Do not abandon me is my personal audiovisual tribute to the great French artist Louise Bourgeois (1911-2010), a title borrowed from that of the homonymous exhibition set up at the Museo Novecento and the Museo degli Innocenti in Florence from June 22 to October 20, 2024, curated by Philip Larratt - Smith and Sergio Risaliti in collaboration with the Easton Foundation. The exhibition Do Not Abandon Me, presented, among other things, a review of red gouaches by Louise Bourgeois with a thematic focus on the reason for the atavic and deep relationship between mother and child. Central was the reference to the fear of abandonment that Bourgeois has always nurtured since childhood, so much so as to put motherhood and the concerns related to it as a leit motif of her own artistic production.
